Radius Building is committed to delivering building excellence and choice for clients. Radius Building is a member of both the Registered Master Builders and the New Zealand Certified Builders organisations. Membership of both trade organisations brings real benefits to clients, who can choose which building contract and guarantees are important to them. It’s part of the Radius Building philosophy of putting clients’ needs first that extends to everything we do.

Radius Building is owned and managed by Richard and Michele Fantham.

Richard Fantham, company director and project manager, leads the team at Radius Building.

Richard has Advanced Trade qualifications as a Licensed Carpenter and Licensed Building Site Manager with 20 years building experience in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Richard manages all building projects, providing clients with one point of contact and a comprehensive customer service experience, from the very first meeting, right through to handing over the keys to your home.

His background as an Officer in the New Zealand Army provided the perfect career to hone the skills required to lead and motivate a highly disciplined and professional team of builders. His leadership of his platoon of soldiers, his empathy and ability to make quick decisions and solve incredibly difficult challenges has made Richard a businessman who is trusted by his clients and respected by his peers. His natural ability to install pride, determination and team spirit into his crew is what makes Radius Building a successful company that thrives on creating our clients’ dream homes.

Michele Fantham, company director and office manager, attends to contractual, administrative and financial matters at Radius Building.

Michele has worked in the banking and insurance industries, here and in the UK. She was employed by one of Europe’s leading banks in London, in strategic management and systems development before becoming Executive Assistant to the Head of European Risk Management, a role that required meticulous organisational, administrative and communication skills.

Her love of people and attention to detail is matched by her desire to ensure clients receive the best customer service experience from Radius Building.

Meet Our Team

Garry Howell

Construction Manager

With over 19 Years building experience Garry has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in the architectural building space and uses those skills to ensure his team’s projects are completed on time and to the highest standard. Garry and Richard worked together in the early 2000’s and when Richard started Radius Building in 2006 he knew he had to get Garry on the team. Garry is a shining star for our clients with one home owner even commenting that they were ‘a bit sad’ when their new home was completed as they were going to miss him so much!

Shayne Anderson

Foreman

When Shayne joined the Radius team 8 years ago he was half way through his carpentry apprenticeship but had already earned a trade certificate in joinery and had 6 years experience in that field. Since joining us he’s successfully completed his NZ Certificate in Carpentry. Upbeat and energetic by nature his skills and enthusiasm make him a true asset to the company. Since joining the team Shayne has also built his own home so has experienced life as both builder and client so has a deep understanding of our client’s experience.

Jordan Fagg

Carpenter

Jordan completed his Carpentry Pre-Trade course at Polytech prior to earning his place in the Radius team. He joined the company as a new apprentice and in the last six years has proven himself to be a loyal and dedicated team member who commits fully to any task in front of him. His sense of pride in his work and commitment to excellence continue to impress and this has resulted in him being awarded his National Certificate in Carpentry in early 2022.

Jason McKenzie

Apprentice

As the newest team member Jason has been with Radius for four years. With a military background plus an accounting degree we knew he’d have both the brains and the brawn to tackle the building industry head on. We were right! Hardworking with a natural eye for detail his potential is already showing through and we know he has a great future in the company.
